$5 scratch off lottery ticket turns into $200,000 winnings, South Carolina woman wins big

South Carolina woman is richer for $200,000 after she turned her $5 worth scratch off lottery ticket into big winnings.

The ticket was bought on President Street in downtown Charleston.

According to the South Carolina Educational Lottery, the lucky woman was spending time with her friends when she decided to buy and scratch the winning ticket.

Her friends went crazy and started screaming down to street celebrating the big winnings.

“It was wild!” the winner said. “I stayed calm, probably because I was in shock.”

The lucky winner said she will use the money to buy new car and down payment on a house.

She never expected that she will win such huge amount of money from a $5 worth ticket.

Lottery officials said she bought the ticket at the President Market at 208 President St. in Charleston.

The store that sold the ticket will receive $2,000 commission.

As of Tuesday, lottery officials say three top prizes of $200,000 remain in the $5 Triple Red 777s game at the odds of 1 in 750,000.
