South Carolina Gov. Henry McMaster was more than happy to announce that BMW is about to invest more than $100 million in new building located just next to their existing factory in Greer.
According to the governor, the German automaker will build new logistic center meaning that the company will increase their operations in South Carolina.
BMW additionally plans to connect their existing building with the new building with two private bridges.
The project should help the company to keep parts needed for manufacturing close to the factory and improving the whole manufacturing process.
According to BMW, the new logistics center is expected to be fully operational by the middle of next year.
The Spartanburg County plant now employs more than 11,000 people and has produced more than five million vehicles since 1994.
With the new logistics center in place, new job positions will be available.
