Braised in the South Set to Open Its Doors on September 27th on Johns Island

Johns Island, South Carolina – The Braised in the South Grand Opening date is set for September 27 at its first brick-and-mortar location, 3338 Maybank Highway, Johns Island. The restaurant will open its doors at 11 am, and fans can enjoy their full menu for lunch or dinner, and their ice cream window for dessert.

Braised in the South’s hours of operations will be Sunday – Wednesday from 11am – 8pm and 11am – 9pm Thursday – Saturday.

The menu features fan favorites including — Totchos, Fried Shrimp and Grits, the Pork n’ Mac Bowl, the B.I.T.S Burger and a variety of tacos. Platters, salads and sandwiches will be introduced to the menu. Meats can be purchased by the pound, and sides can be purchased by the pint and quart.

Unique to Johns Island, B.I.T.S will have an ice cream window that will feature soft serve ice cream. Dessert lovers can enjoy scoops in a cone or bowl and customize the order with any of the 21 toppings or dips.

Owners Brandon Lapp and Steve Klatt, two classically trained chefs, have brought southern-inspired fare to their menu since 2017, through their food truck, and are now excited to open their first stand-alone restaurant. Braised in the South gained popularity when they were named winners of Food Network’s ‘The Great Food Truck Race’ Season 8.

All seating is outdoors available at a first come first serve basis, and the restaurant is following city guidelines for social distancing. Unfortunately, pets are not allowed.

“We are overwhelmed with the amount of love we’ve received through this whole process. We started serving the Charleston area just three years ago, and in that time, we’ve gained the biggest, most supportive family,” said owners Steve Klatt and Brandon Lapp. “From one small food truck, to multiple trucks and a permanent location, you guys have been with us every step of the way. We only dreamed about being where we are today, and we are so thankful for your support.”
