Building collapses on car with the driver inside, South Carolina woman lucky to be alive

Edgefield, South Carolina – South Carolina woman is lucky to be alive after a building collapsed on her car while she was inside.

According for fire department crews, the incident took place last Tuesday in Edgefield when the building collapsed on the car as soon as the woman got in the car and closed the door.

When first responders arrived at the scene, the woman was trapped in the vehicle covered with bricks. Police and fire department officers quickly removed the woman from the car before other remains of building were about the fall on the car.

Luckily, the woman suffered minor injuries, but was transferred in hospital for further examinations. She was released from hospital the same day.

The owner of the more than 100 years old building completely demolished the property after the incident.
