Charleston local residents to celebrate nature, wildlife and the great outdoors, the SEWE event open for the public starting Friday

Charleston, South Carolina – The four-decades long tradition continues in Charleston over the weekend as local residents will have great opportunity to spend some quality time with friends and family.

After being cancelled last year due to Covid-19, the Southeastern Wildlife Exposition, or SEWE, is taking place this year and will be open to the public from Friday to Sunday.

According to the organizers, SEWE is an event where artists, conservationists, craftsmen and more can come together to celebrate nature, wildlife and the great outdoors.

The event was open on Thursday with VIP guests and special events taking place. Starting Friday, the event is open for everyone. On Friday, Saturday and Sunday the event will run from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.

SEWE is located in downtown Charleston and the exhibits and attractions are spread throughout five venues across the peninsula.

Here are just some of the things you can enjoy this weekend:

  • Dockdogs competitions
  • Fine art exhibits and auctions
  • Sheep and duck herding demos
  • Busch Wildlife Sanctuary Show
  • Birds of Prey Flight Demos
  • Retriever Demonstrations
  • Chef Demos
  • Fly Fishing Demonstrations
  • Jeff Corwin Live Animal Show

You can purchase tickets at various places during SEWE, including Brittlebank Park, Gaillard Center and Marion Square.

Those interested in attending the SEWE event during the weekend should visit SEWE’s official website for more information.
