College of Charleston Photos of the Week

Charleston, South Carolina – From basketball practice to Fishing on Fridays with campus rec to student activities, life at the College of Charleston is bright and busy these days.

The Student Government Association recently hosted a “Week of Action” with a series of events focusing on racial injustice. One event included a message board where students could share how they want to stand up to issues of discrimination and bias.

The women’s and men’s basketball teams held their first practice of the season on Oct. 15, 2020. College of Charleston Athletics recently announced its plan to return to competition for the upcoming 2020-21 men’s and women’s basketballs seasons.

Campus Recreation Services recently launched Fishing on Fridays, a weekly event held from 4-6 p.m. each Friday through Nov. 20, at the fishing pier at Memorial Waterfront Park in Mount Pleasant. Students who would need to use fishing equipment through Campus Recreation Services should sign up through IMLeagues.com. Students pay a $4 fishing fee pass to access the pier.

CofC student Noah Sigalas, Alexander Read and Susan Kraybill ’10 help construct a Lego model of Cistern Yard in the atrium of Addlestone Library. The project is part of the celebration of the 250th anniversary of the College’s founding.

Studying, hanging out and working: Remember to mask-up while you’re on campus!
