Dorchester County single vehicle crash results with one person, police report

Dorchester County, S. C. – Wednesday afternoon single vehicle crash in Dorchester County results with one person dead.

According to police reports, the accident took place on Wescott Boulevard off of Dorchester Road in the North Charleston area around 4:30 p.m.

The ongoing investigation should reveal the reason why 2015 Ford F-250 ran off the roadway and struck a ditch.

When troopers arrived on the scene, the driver, who was the only occupant in the vehicle, was in critical condition with heavy injuries. He was transferred to hospital for treatment where he died shortly after.

The identity of the driver was not immediately released. Police said he was wearing seatbelt at the time of the accident.
