Elderly man steals bench in front of a home entrance, police find it and returns it back

BERKELEY COUNTY, South Carolina – Elderly man was caught on camera when stole a bench in front of a home entrance early Tuesday morning.

The homeowner released the video of his doorbell camera of the incident. The man drove up to his house and stole the bench of his front porch.

“He didn’t even have his face covered. He looks like an older gentleman. By older, I would say late 40s, early 50s. Just in regular street clothes and a jacket, looked straight at the camera,” said Michael Broadhead.

The owner reported the incident. Police officers were able to identify the man and locate the bench.

Officers returned the stolen bench to the owner last night after 11 p.m.

No information was given about possible charges against the theft.
