Friday afternoon shooting in Orangeburg results with two people shot and killed, police

Orangeburg, South Carolina – Friday afternoon shooting outside Orangeburg home results with two people shot and killed, local authorities confirmed.

Orangeburg County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that deputies were dispatched in a neighborhood near South Carolina State University to a home near Coleman Avenue at Belleville Road around 5:30 p.m. following 911 call in regards to a shooting incident.

When deputies arrived at the scene, they found two male victims with apparent gunshot wounds who were pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators have not provided further details about the shooting, except to say that they do not believe it was a random incident.

The local authorities confirmed that the shooting took place just a few blocks away from the university where President Joe Biden delivered the commencement address Friday morning.

Victim’s identities were not released by the local authorities when they initially informed the public about the shooting incident.

There is ongoing investigation about the case. Police said they don’t have suspect(s) at this point of the investigation.
