Man is facing life in prison after he allegedly found 8-year-old girl alone playing in the yard, locked her in the house, abused and raped her

The life of this 8-year-old girl will never be the same after she was abused and raped by random man who was passing in front of the house where the little girl was playing in the yard alone. While the police are still searching for the suspect, they said that he is facing life in prison if found guilty in all eight charges including rape of a child.

According to police reports, the incident happened early August in one California home when the 8-year-old girl was playing in the yard in front of her house alone.

That’s the moment when the suspect, identified as the 24-year-old D. Hornsby was walking by the house and saw the little girl. The police said he approached the little girl and start playing with her. Just in the moment when the suspect realized that there was no one in the house, he took the girl inside and locked the entrance door.

District Attorney’s Office said in a news release that the suspect abused and raped the 8-year-old girl and then he let her go. As soon as she was free, she ran to a family member in the house next door who later chased Hornsby out, city police said.

The identity of the girl was not released by the authorities because of her age. Police also didn’t say where were the parents of the little girl at the time of the attack.

“The suspect was a stranger with no prior associations to the juvenile victim,” said a statement from the local police department.

According to police report, deputies were dispatched at the scene in regards to the 911 call around 7:30 a.m. on August 6th.

A patrol officer recognized Hornsby from his description, walking on a street a mile away a little more than an hour later, according to releases.

The police are still unable to locate and arrest the suspect. He is wanted on eight charges including rape of a child and if found guilty for all charges he will spend the rest of his life behind bars.

“This nightmare of a crime has shaken us all,” District Attorney said in a statement. “The alert police officer who saw and arrested this predator just hours later, and before anyone else was hurt, is a credit to the badge and our community.”
