Moncks Corner Christmas Parade to take place this weekend, local authorities prepared for the event

Moncks Corner, South Carolina – Moncks Corner Christmas Parade is set to take place this weekend as a part of the holiday season events in the area.

Since many attendees are expected at the event, the local authorities completely prepared even a whole day before the start of the event.

“It is not only the police department coming out, it will also be the Fire Department, plus we will have EMS involved in case there are any injuries or first aid needs,” said Moncks Corner PD Captain Steve Young.

Young added that there will be additional patrol officers present at the event in an effort to make attendees feel safe. However, he asks everyone to remain vigilant.

“Please make sure you stay on the sidewalks when observing the event, and do not go into the street where the parade is. It is going to be an evening parade, so I would recommend that people in attendance wear some type of light-colored clothing,” he said.

The events ahead of the holidays will surely cause some problems to the locals, but they are also happy to see and feel the Christmas spirit across town.

“The town of Moncks Corner does a really good job of blocking off the entrances where most of the traffic is, and it is a short parade and its pretty awesome,” Christian West, business owner of Spruced Up.

Town officials have coordinated to make sure if a train passes through town, it will slow down, but they ask all attendees to be alert, especially at the crossing.
