A great opportunity for the community to meet with authorities in a different, positive way.

“National Night Out” day will take place on Tuesday, August 2 and Mt. Pleasant Police Department, City of Charleston Police Department, and North Charleston Police Department will host the event.

According to officials, the event is held the first Tuesday of August every year and people usually gather in large number to connect and chat with police officers in a different way.

The Mt. Pleasant Police Department will host theirs at the Mt. Pleasant Memorial Waterfront Park from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

They say there will be multiple activities for kids at site, food truck, live music and raffles.

The Charleston Police Department will host their night out from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the RiverDogs stadium.

Similar to the Mount Pleasant event, CPD say there will be drawing for prizes, ice cream trucks and dunk tank outside the stadium.

NCPD officials say numerous police officers will attend the event available to chat with the community about their problems. Additionally, food and drink truck will be on site, raffles, games and more activities for adults and children.
