Newberry County woman was attacked and killed by her own dog on Thursday, police say

Newberry County, South Carolina – A woman from Newberry County was attacked and killed by her own dog on Thursday, the local authorities confirmed.

According to the incident report, the victim in the incident was identified as the 45-year-old Erin Beach and she was found dead at her home located on Apple Orchard Lane just before 1 p.m. on Thursday.

It’s still unknown what triggered the dog to attack and kill the woman.

An autopsy for Beach is scheduled for this week.

When the deputies and EMS crews arrived at the scene following the 911 call, the dog was very aggressive towards the first responders eventually resulting in the death of the dog.

A necropsy for the dog has also been scheduled. The breed of the dog has not been confirmed.

Newberry County Sheriff’s Office and the Newberry County Coroner’s Office are still investigating the case.
