One dead in Monday afternoon fatal shooting in West Ashley, police report

West Ashley, South Carolina – Monday afternoon shooting at a subdivision in West Ashley was fatal for one person, police say.

According to police report, the incident happened on Corral Drive in the Ponderosa subdivision around 3:30 p.m.

When first responders arrived at the scene, they found one male victim suffering gunshot wounds.

The male victim was found in the driveway, unresponsive.

Capt. Roger Antonio said the victim suffered an apparent gunshot wound and subsequently died at the scene.

The shooter(s) had fled the scene prior authorities’ arrival.

Police didn’t inform if they have a suspect at this time.

No more details were given as they were canvassing the area where the incident occurred.
