One person shot and injured found in Hanahan grocery store parking lot Tuesday afternoon, police investigating the case

The Hanahan local police were dispatched to a possible shooting at Lowes Foods on Tanner Place Boulevard around 5 p.m. on Tuesday.

According to them, when they arrived at the scene, they found one victim suffering non-life-threatening injuries with at least one apparent gunshot wound.

As soon as they arrived at the scene, the shooting victim was transferred to hospital for treatment and doctors confirmed that his condition is stable.

The initial investigation showed that the man was shot at another location.

“Our investigators have determined that the actual shooting took place at another location and based on what we have gathered so far, this is a domestic related incident and there is no threat to the general public,” Hanahan Police Chief Dennis Turner said in a Facebook post.

The staff at the nearby stores kept the customers inside while they determined if there was an active threat to the shopping center.

One the deputies confirmed there is no threat in the area, the customers were allowed to leave the shopping center and stores.

This has been the second shooting incident in the area, but police believe that both of the incident were not connected to each other.

More details regarding the most recent shooting incident are expected during the week. Stay with us for updates.
