Police arrest man believed to be connected with January shooting

Myrtle Beach, S. C. – A man was arrested in a connection to a January shooting in Myrtle Beach. According to the Horry County Police Dept., the suspect was part of a shooting on January 29 around 11 p.m. and the police was looking for him since then.

The shooting took place near Loyola Drive next to Panda Express and Taco Bell.

The suspect, William Kirkman a 27-year-old, is charged with possession of a weapon during a violent crime and attempted murder.

When first responders arrived, officer found a vehicle that matched the description of the suspect’s vehicle. But after they conducted a felony car stop, they learned it was not the suspect’s vehicle.

During the time, one victim was transferred to a hospital while one officer was staying with the victim’s vehicle and another one went to follow up the victim.
