Saturday early morning single-vehicle crash in Dorchester County fatal for the driver, report

One person is dead as a result of the single-vehicle crash that took place in Dorchester County Saturday early morning.

According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol, a 1997 Ford SUV was traveling on I-26 East near mile marker 185 when the vehicle ran off the road.

The driver of the SUV overcorrected his vehicle and struck the cable barrier in the median.

As a result of the hit, the driver was ejected of the vehicle.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The identity of the driver was not released immediately.

The crash is under investigation by the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
