South Carolina adds 647 new cases of COVID-19, 16 more deaths announced

South Carolina public health officials reported Wednesday, November 4, another 647 newly confirmed cases of COVID-19 coronavirus in the state. The newly confirmed cases come alongside 16 additional confirmed deaths and 3 new probable deaths, along with 68 probable new cases.

According to the S.C. Dept. of Health and Environmental Control, the total number of confirmed coronavirus cases in South Carolina is now to 171,642, along with 9,228 probable cases. As for deaths, state health officials have confirmed 3,728 deaths due to the virus, and another 257 probably caused by it.

The total number of individual test results reported to DHEC yesterday statewide was 4,459 (not including antibody tests) and the percent positive was 14.5%.

In the Lowcountry, Charleston County was 9th in the state for most newly reported cases of the virus on Wednesday, with 30. Beaufort had 19, Berkeley had 14, Colleton 11, Dorchester 10, and Georgetown had 7.

Two new probable deaths in the Lowcountry were reported in Berkeley and Georgetown counties.
