South Carolina Highway Patrol troopers are investigating deadly hit-and-run incident in Beaufort County on Monday

Beaufort County, South Carolina – Hit-and-run incident on Monday in Beaufort County was fatal for one person, South Carolina Highway Patrol troopers confirmed.

According to the police report, the deadly incident happened Monday night around 8:30 p.m. when a pedestrian was fatally struck by un unknown vehicle that was traveling on Highway 278 near Okatie Center Boulevard.

The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene and the vehicle fled the scene right after the incident.

The identity of the victim was not immediately released by the authorities and no more details about the deadly incident were given.
