South Carolina reports nearly 3,000 new Covid-19 cases

South Carolina tacked on nearly 3,000 new cases on Saturday, marking the ninth straight day over 2,000 new cases.

The Department of Health and Environmental Control (DHEC) announced 2,919 new confirmed cases, 79 probable cases, 16 confirmed deaths and 7 probable deaths on Saturday.

This brings the state total to 250,386 cases, 20,151 probable cases, 4,529 total deaths, and 366 probable deaths.

Greenville County by far had the most new cases, with over 500 new cases. The second-most county was York County with 216 new cases.

Out of 12,767 new individual test results reported statewide, not including antibody tests, the percent positive was 22.9%.
