Dorchester County, South Carolina – Starting Thursday, January 20, Beech Hill Elementary School, part of the Dorchester School District Two, will switch to virtual learning, the school district confirmed.
According to the district’s decision, the temporary measure will last at least until Friday, January 28th.
“With the growing number of COVID-related situations in our schools and the community, Dorchester District Two school operations are increasingly being impacted,” reads a DD2 press release.
“The primary concern is for the health and safety of our students and staff. But also, the increased number of positive and quarantined employees has presented a challenge to safely and adequately staff positions critical to school operations.”
All other school and sport activities will be cancelled during the duration of the measure. If needed, the virtual learning can be extended.
