Texas police arrest white supremacist, allegedly planned mass shooting in Walmart store

28-year-old white supremacist from Texas was arrested by police for allegedly plotting to shoot up local Walmart store. Police said the suspect T. Blevins was planning mass shootout after they found weapons and neo-Nazi paraphernalia in his home.

The arrest took place in the city of Kerrville, just an hour drive from San Antonio. Kerr County Sheriff’s Office said they are happy putting Blevins behind bars before he managed to execute this plan.

“Our investigators did outstanding work in this case, and possibly saved many lives,” Sheriff Larry Leitha said in a statement. “The plot interrupted in this case is unthinkable.”

The operation lasted for almost 10 days, a period in which police acknowledged Blevins had been radicalized by “extremist ideologies” and was preparing to carry out a “mass casualty event”.

Authorities could finally confirm Belvin’s intentions after KCSO Special Operations Division intercepted a message that “made a specific threat that included Wal-Mart”. That was the moment when police decided to arrest him and put in jail.

Shortly after the arrest, police conducted a detailed home inspection and they were able to find a bunch of weapons, white supremacist literature and drugs.

“In that warrant service, firearms, ammunition, electronic evidence, concentrated THC, and radical ideology paraphernalia, including books, flags, and handwritten documents were seized,” the Sheriff’s Office said.

In a Facebook post on Sunday, Kerr County Sheriff’s Office released a photo of Blevins’ home where flags and other Nazi-related items can be seen.

The suspect has been jailed at Kerr County Jail and is being held on $250,000 bond. At the time of the arrest, Blevins was on a felony probation meaning he was not allowed to possess or carry any weapons.

This was a successful joint operation where local Kerrville police, FBI, US Secret Service and other agencies participated. Kerrville police thanked all of them for stopping another catastrophic shooting.

“This case reminds us that we need to always be vigilant,” Sheriff Leitha said. “Many think ‘that can’t happen here’, and it was well on the way to happening.”
