Thursday night single-vehicle crash in Georgetown County fatal for the driver and a passenger after their vehicle ran off the road

Georgetown County, South Carolina – Two people died in a single-vehicle crash that took place in Georgetown County Thursday night, the South Carolina Highway Patrol confirmed.

According to the incident report, the driver of a 2006 Suzuki SUV and one passenger were killed after their vehicle ran off the road and hit a culvert and a tree. SCHP said the SUV was headed west on Kent Road near Fulmore Drive around 10:30 p.m. Thursday when the incident took place.

The driver of the vehicle and one passenger ware pronounced dead at the scene by the first responders. Another passenger suffered injuries and was transferred to hospital for treatment.

No additional details about the third victim’s condition were given.

The identities of people who died in the crash were not immediately released.

There is ongoing investigation that should reveal the cause of the incident.
