Thursday night two-vehicle crash along Interstate 26 in Berkeley County fatal for one person, report

Berkeley County, South Carolina – One person is dead following the Thursday night two-vehicle crash along I-26 in Berkeley County, police confirm.

According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol, the accident took place around 8:10 p.m. near mile marker.

Two vehicles, a Lincoln Navigator and a Ford F-350, were heading westbound when the incident happened. According to SCHP, the Lincoln Navigator struck the rear of the Ford F-350, which was pulling a car trailer.

As a result of the crash, the Lincoln Navigator went off the road and overturned. The driver suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

SCHP troopers said that the driver of the Ford F-350 and the passenger were wearing seat belts at the time of the accident. It was not revealed if they sustained injuries in the crash.

At this point, it remains unclear what led to the crash.

The authorities are investigating the incident.
