Train accident in Dorchester County fatal for one pedestrian in wheelchair

Dorchester County, South Carolina – A pedestrian who was in electric wheelchair was fatally struck by train in Dorchester County on Wednesday evening.

According to police reports, the westbound train hit the pedestrian in the area of U.S. 15 and Northwest Railroad Avenue.

Authorities say no other injuries were reported. The identity of the victim was not released immediately.
