Vehicle and pedestrian fatal crash on Folly Road near Wappoo Creek, no charges will be filed

Charleston, S. C. – No charges will be filed for the fatal crash that took place at the intersection of Folly Road and Crosscreek Drive on James Island.

The crash was fatal for the pedestrian who was hit by the vehicle.

Major Accident Investigation Team is still investigating the case, but no charges will be files against the driver at this point.

Officials say the pedestrian appeared to be crossing Folly Road, and was struck by an SUV heading north on Folly Road.

The driver remained on the scene after the crash and was cooperating with the police.

This was the 4th fatal incident in Charleston in 2021.
