Vehicle crashed into Georgetown County Sheriff’s Office patrol vehicle Thursday morning on U.S. 521

Georgetown County, South Carolina – Thursday morning deputy involved crash on U.S. 521 left one Georgetown County Sheriff’s Office deputy with minor injuries.

According to the incident report, the crash happened around 9:30 a.m. Thursday when the deputy was traveling east on U.S. 521 and the patrol car was struck on the passenger side by a vehicle entering the highway.

It happened at the intersection of U.S. Highway 521 and U.S. 17A.

The first responders said that both the deputy and the driver in the other vehicle suffered minor, non-life-threatening injuries.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
