While he was driving in his vehicle, North Charleston resident got shot for no apparent reason Monday evening, report

North Charleston, South Carolina – Man got shot while he was driving his vehicle for no apparent reason in North Charleston Monday evening, police say.

According to the incident report, the shooting took place around 5:20 p.m. to Palmetto Commerce Boulevard.

The man reportedly was driving down the road when someone got next to his vehicle, pointed a gun at him and shot him leaving him injured.

Right after the shooting, the suspect fled the scene and the injured driver stopped the vehicle and called police.

He was transferred to hospital for treatment. No details were given about his condition.

Police say they don’t have additional information about the incident and added they are looking for the suspect.

The identity of the victim was not released immediately.

The case is under investigation. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call the authorities.
