With the Delta wave lowering its spreading pace and the Covid-19 numbers going down, many school districts who implemented the mask mandate in schools across the country are lifting the requirements for students and school staff.
However, there are some school districts that are just about to enforce mask mandates right now.
According to the latest information, Dorchester County School District Four board is about to meet and discuss mask enforcement in schools withing the districts.
The board meeting is set to take place on Tuesday at 6 p.m. and the board will hold its third reading on a face mask requirement.
The board’s agenda also calls for an update on a new middle school.
As multiple sources already reported, Kelvin Wymbs, now former superintendent, resigned from the position on October 8th.
The superintendent position was taken by Dr. Andrea Sturkey, who is both acting superintendent and district’s human resources director. She is expected to speak at the Tuesday’s meeting.
Wymbs started his job as a superintendent in January 2019 and has been on the position for almost two years. Previously, he worked at the Florence School District One where he was serving as the district’s director of secondary instruction.
He replaced Dr. Morris Ravenell who served the district as superintendent since 2014.
