Another blood donation event scheduled to take place next week in Mount Pleasant, American Red Cross warns about low supply

Mount Pleasant, South Carolina – Since the start of the pandemic, South Carolina is facing low blood supply units and the American Red Cross is constantly working on organizing blood donation events.

According to them, the American Red Cross teams up with East Cooper Medical Center and they announced community blood drive set to take place next week in Mount Pleasant.

The event is a result of the blood supply shortages local hospitals face since the start of the pandemic, but the issue is especially alarming in the last couple of months.

The drive, which will be open to members of the community and hospital employees, will take place on Friday, January 28th from 10:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m.

As usual, all the well-known pandemic measures will be enforced during the blood drive event. According to the organizers, there will be hand sanitizer provided at the site, everyone will be obligated to wear face mask and beds will be spaced six feet apart.
