Bicyclist dead after collision in Charleston

Charleston, South Carolina – A bicyclist is dead after a collision in West Ashley late Saturday night.

Police said the bicyclist was crossing Savannah Highway around 11:30 p.m. when that person was struck by a vehicle.

The bicyclist was pronounced dead at the scene.

Savannah Highway was closed for more than three hours between West Oak Forest and Oak Forest.

The identity of the deceased has not been released at this time.

There has been no word on any charges.
