Brothers shot three people to death including 1-year-old baby, mother helps them flee state

A woman is accused for helping her two sons to flee the state after allegedly shooting three people to death, including 18-month-old girl in an apartment complex shooting that took place on Memorial Day last month. The woman was arrested and faces charges of two counts of accessory after the fact to first-degree murder.

The shooting took place at apartment complex last month on May 31st on Memorial Day in Louisiana when the two brothers opened fire and shot two people to death, while the infant suffered gunshot wounds and died few hours later in hospital. One of the shooters was identified as 19-year-old David W., while the second shooter’s name was not revealed by police because he is only 15-year-old.

According to police, the two brothers were among those opening fire at the apartment complex after they got into fight with at least two other males who were seated next to a swimming pool. The motive for the shooting still remains unknown.

Police added that the victims in the shooting were both young male victims and an infant. As reported, one of the victims was identified as 20-year-old Reginald T., while the second victim was a teenager, 16-year-old Dewayne D. The third victim was 18-month-old infant who suffered serious injuries and was transferred to hospital for treatment where she later died.

The mother of the shooting suspects, 36-year-old Latoya C., was arrested after she was accused of helping her sons escaping in Texas days after the shooting. The police said they even managed to safely reach and accommodate in the hotel.

The owner of the hotel later provided surveillance footage where the mother and her two sons could be seen entering the building. Furthermore, police obtained a handwritten receipt from the hotel for Coleman as a part of the evidence in the case. All three of them were arrested near the hotel.

Meanwhile, the other two suspects in the case were also arrested. According to the arrest report, one of them was adult and the other one teenager.
