Lexington County, South Carolina – The 51-year-old Angus Dorane Godwin was arrested by the local authorities involved in a Christmas party incident in Lexington County earlier this month.
According to the police, Godwin was arrested on Thursday and he faces multiple charges including third-degree assault and battery charges.
The suspect is accused for the December 6 incident at a Christmas party for allegedly slapping another man who attended the same party.
Authorities said during their investigation, the discovered Godwin and the other man had an ongoing feud.
The investigators said that right after the incident, the suspect told a witness at the restaurant that he had just slapped the victim. The party took place at O’Hara’s Public House.
The victim in the case told the authorities that Godwin initially wanted to start a fight, but it didn’t happen because the victim didn’t respond to the provocations.
The suspect turned himself in on Thursday, December 16th. He was transferred to the Lexington County Detention Center on $1,000 bond.
He was released from jail after posting bond and was told to have no contact with the victim.
