January Tanger Outlets shooting investigation leads to arrest and charge of a woman

Charleston, South Carolina – A woman is arrested and charged connected to the January Tanger Outlets shooting.

North Charleston Police Department confirmed they arrested the 19-year-old India Nicole Summersett.

The shooting took place on Jan. 8 when a woman was shot in her chest while sitting in her car. The woman was transferred to a local hospital and survived.

Authorities noted a strong odor of marijuana coming from inside the vehicle.

According to the police, Summersett faces multiple charges: possession of a weapon during a violent crime, attempted armed robbery and attempted murder.

She will face a bond court judge on Thursday morning.
