Parts of Glenn McConnell Parkway to be closed during night hours next week due to construction

Charleston, South Carolina – Parts of Glenn McConnell Parkway will be closed next week due to constriction.

The planned construction is part of the Glenn McConnell Parkway Widening Project, project that finally started in March after years-long planning process.

Per the schedule, the construction process will take place every night between 7 p.m. – 6 a.m., from May 8 to May 11.

Crews will work on the eastbound inside lane of Glenn McConnell between Bees Ferry Road and Magwood Drive.

Drivers are asked to avoid the area if possible and to be extra cautious. Reduced speed limits and signs during this period will be enforced.
