Starting Thursday, Avelo Airlines will connect Charleston International Airport and Tweed-New Haven Airport in Connecticut

Charleston, South Carolina – What Avelo Airlines officials announced in February this year, is becoming a reality this Thursday.

Starting Thursday, nonstop flights between the North Charleston-based airport and Tweed-New Haven Airport in Connecticut are becoming a reality for the very first time.

The company in February confirmed there will be three flights per week until the end of May. Starting May 26, a fourth day will be added in the schedule.

Avelo Chairman and CEO Andrew Levy said, “We’re excited to officially begin service in Charleston and start Charleston’s first nonstop route to Southern Connecticut. With our low fares and Boeing 737 jetliners, it’s the most convenient and accessible way to get to Southern Connecticut – for both your wallet and your inflight experience.”

The airline, however, will extended their operations at the Charleston Int. Airport, something that was confirmed by the airline’s officials in April.

According to the last month’s announcement, Avelo Airlines said that it would begin service between Charleston International Airport and Orlando International Airport starting in late June.
