More than 900 new Covid-19 cases were reported on Friday and that is slight increase of what South Carolina was reporting in the last couple of days.
According to the Friday’s DHEC report, 981 new Covid-19 cases were added in the overall Covid-19 statistics.
As usual, the number are representations of the results conducted two days earlier, in this case Wednesday.
Friday’s report included 706 cases confirmed through PCR tests and another 278 detected through rapid tests.
DHEC also reported a total of 46 new Covid-19 related deaths, 32 confirmed and 14 considered probable.
The positivity rate was 5% of all 28,202 tests conducted.
Since the start of the pandemic, South Carolina recorded a total of 897,152 COVID-19 cases.
719,120 cases were detected using PCR tests and 178,032 detected with rapid tests.
DHEC has reported a total of 13,716 COVID-19 related deaths. That total includes 11,851 deaths classified as “confirmed” and an additional 1,865 classified as “probable.”
Since the start of the pandemic, more than 11.7 million COVID tests were conducted in Palmetto State.
