South Carolina added 1,212 new Covid-19 cases on Friday, 3 more deaths

Columbia, South Carolina – The Covid-19 cases across the state are on the rise as the latest Covid-19 report issued on Friday shows increasing trend once again.

According the DHEC report, Palmetto State added 1,212 new cases in the Friday’s report.

Additionally, 3 more deaths were reported as a result of the virus have been reported.

Since the start of the pandemic, the total number of confirmed cases is 606,833.

The total number of deaths now reaches 9,878.

DHEC announced that the results in the Friday’s report are valid and processed as of Wednesday.

The positivity rate of all tests conducted in South Carolina was 12.1%.

The Covid-19 cases are also surging in almost every state. Health experts say the reason for the latest wave is the Delta variant known to be very infectious.

State and health officials urge the public to get vaccinated as soon as possible stating that’s the only way to beat the virus.
