Store owner caught shoplifting teenager – instead of calling the police, the owner did something that gave him a life lesson

Toledo, OH – Store owner spotted strange behavior of a teen customer right after he entered his supermarket. The boy was going from one side to another and he was turning himself around for a few minutes. That was more than enough for the owner to realize something suspicious.

Jay, the owner of the store, told an employee to call 911 right away. When the boy heard that, he tried to run but Jay stopped him at the door and confronted him.

Jay was right, it turned out that the boy was trying to steal something from the supermarket.

“He said, ‘Oh, I’ll put it back.’ I said ‘No, put everything on the counter. I want to see all the things that you have,'” Jay said. Jay only had one question: “Why you are stealing?” he asked the teenager.

The boy was homeless and he was stealing for him and for his younger brother because they couldn’t afford to buy food. When the owner heard this, he immediately canceled the 911 call and filled a bag with food. Jay said there was no point in getting the young thief arrested.

“He’s a young kid. That will go on his record that he was a thief. He cannot do anything in his life. He will not get a good job. This will not solve his hunger problem,” Jay said.

Everyone should look for their inner Jay and help those in need.
