Teenagers kill young father by throwing rocks and other objects from highway overpass, claiming it was just a game

Four teenagers from Michigan killed young father by throwing rocks on his car from highway overpass while he was going back home from work. All of them admitted the incident and will be sentenced to prison as adults.

The teens agreed to plead guilty to one count of manslaughter for throwing rocks and other objects from an expressway overpass.

J. White was sitting on the passenger seat of the truck when large rock fell out of nowhere, broke the windshield and hit him. As a result of the hit, White was unconscious and by the time first responders arrived on the scene, he was pronounced dead.

White’s cause of death was declared a homicide, with blunt force trauma to the head and chest. There were lacerations and abrasions to White’s head and face, as well as a skull fracture and injury to the brain. White also suffered from a broken clavicle and broken upper ribs.

“This was my heart that was destroyed… He was my best friend and the love of my life. Thank you to all for the support.” his wife later said.

When asked, the boys said they were playing a game called “Overpassing” where you throw rocks and other objects on vehicles. The judge simply couldn’t believe their explanation.

However, the attorney who is representing one of the boys said that a harsh sentence for the defendants will not mitigate the tragedy. “You have a person whose life was taken. Now we have four young boys whose lives may be taken,” he said. “So, to sit here and say this is somehow a win for one side or the other, it’s not. It’s very sad all across the board.”

White’s wife was, however, happy with the decision the teenagers to be charged as adults.
