The officer injured in Sunday’s night accident in the Adams Run area suffered non-life-threatening injuries, released from hospital

Charleston County, South CarolinaSavannah Highway southbound was closed for a few hours Sunday night while first responders were clearing the scene following a crash that left a Hanahan police officer injured.

The accident, according to the Charleston County Sheriff’s Office, took place in the Adams Run area at 9:47 p.m. near Parkers Ferry Road. Deputies responded to the scene shortly after the crash.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol later informed the public that a Hanahan police officer was injured in the incident. Per the Hannah Police, the officer sustained only minor injuries but was taken to a hospital as a precaution. A few hours later, the officer was released to go home.

Investigators didn’t provide more details about the incident. It remains unknown what led to the crash, what exactly happened and if anyone else was injured in the accident.

There is an ongoing investigation conducted by the South Carolina Highway Patrol. Once more information is provided, we will update the case.
