North Charleston, South Carolina – The suspect believed to be responsible for the deadly shooting in North Charleston grocery store on Monday is arrested, police confirmed.

The North Charleston Police Department identified the suspect as the 24-year-old Keano Ante Simmons and he was arrested and charged with murder and possession of a deadly weapon during the commission of a violent crime.

The shooting took place on Monday, Nov. 8, at the 1 Grocery at 4106 Dorchester Rd.

When police arrived at the scene, they found one victim suffering serious gunshot wounds and he was pronounced dead at the scene shortly after.

The suspect was also served with an arrest warrant for grand larceny in an unrelated case, police said.

Simmons was booked in the Al Cannon Detention Center.
