Covid-19 news

Unlike some states that already reached the peak of the Delta wave, South Carolina will see increasing number of cases with the peak of the wave expected to happen mid-September

South Carolina – South Carolina is among the states where the latest Delta wave started to increase the daily number of cases a little bit later compared to some other states like Arkansas, one of the states with the lowest vaccination rates so far.

Every wave has a specific life span, so does the Delta wave. Reportedly, the current number of cases in Palmetto State is nothing compared to what should South Carolinians expect in the upcoming period with the peak expected to happen somewhere mid-September.

Meanwhile, South Carolina is recording pretty high number of cases, varying from 3-4,000 on a daily basis.

The latest Covid-19 report issued by the DHEC on Wednesday, recorded 3,715 new confirmed positive cases.

Total of 33 deaths were reported, 27 confirmed and six probable.

The positivity rate among all the 18,736 tests conducted was 18,6%.

With the latest numbers added in the statistics, South Carolina now reached a total of 702,894 cases since the start of the pandemic. The total number of recorder deaths since March 2020 is 10,357. That total includes 9,100 deaths classified as “confirmed” and an additional 1,257 classified as “probable.”

Since the start of the pandemic, the state performed more than 9 million tests.

While everyone is doing everything they can to protect themselves from the virus, state and health officials continue to urge South Carolinians to get the vaccine as soon as possible.

As soon as the Thursday’s Covid-19 is published, we will update the numbers. Stay with us!
