Charleston County School District extended the mask mandate, students and school staff required to wear mask at least until mid-November

Charleston County, South Carolina – What was previously expected was confirmed after the voting on Monday regarding the mask mandate.

According to the latest decision by the Charleston County School Board, the mask mandate in Charleston County School District was extended and will require students and school staff to wear masks in the upcoming period.

The school board voted 8 to 1 Monday evening to extended the mask mandate at least until November 12.

The initial idea for the mask mandate in the CCSD was brought to the light of day in August when the Covid-19 numbers were much higher than now.

However, they enforced the mask mandate in September, with a decision to remain in place until mid-October.

According to the mandate, all students and school staff were required to wear masks in schools. Those who didn’t comply were sent home and switched to virtual learning.
