Gaffney man dies after being shot while sitting in the car Monday evening, report

Gaffney, South Carolina – The man who was shot in the head while sitting in his car on Monday evening in Gaffney died police say.

According to police, the incident took place near the corner of Edgehill Drive and Woodlawn Drive around 8 p.m.

The victim, identified by police as 30-year-old Michael McAlister, Jr., died after he was shot only once in the head while sitting in the front passenger’s seat of a 2009 Dodge Challenger.

Officers informed that they arrested the suspect and believe he was the only one involved in the incident.

The identity of the suspect has not been released by police until now.
