Charleston, South Carolina – The shooting death of a man in Johns Island on the evening of June 10 has prompted an investigation by the Charleston Police Department.
According to authorities, Charleston police officers and Charleston County sheriff’s deputies were called to the area of Bozo Lane near Dunmovin Drive at around 10:30 p.m. in response to a report of shots being fired in the area.
In addition to receiving reports of shots being fired, authorities also received reports of a hurt man in the vicinity of Walpole Way and Hay Road.
Responding officers located the man upon arriving at the scene, suffering from what were said to be obvious signs of trauma. They performed life-saving techniques on the victim while waiting for emergency medical services.
When EMS crews arrived, they said the victim was dead. The name of the victim was not released.
Police did not make any arrests yet and did not mention whether a suspect had been identified.
