Police released photo of suspect’s vehicle following the hit-and-run crash in Greenville on Sunday

Greenville, South Carolina – Police released a photo of the suspect’s vehicle involved in the hit-and-run where SC teacher was killed on Sunday.

The teacher was identified as 33-year-old Carli Brewer Soukup and she died as a result of the hit while driving her bike on Sulpur Springs Road around 2 p.m. on Sunday.

According to police report, the victim was hit by a truck who was traveling east on Sulphur Spring Road while the victim was crossing a crosswalk.

The vehicle left the scene immediately after the crash and has not been found by police.

Police are asking for public’s help in locating the vehicle of what appear to be 2009 Chevrolet Silverado with South Carolina license plate SXQ-398. They added that the vehicle might be damaged in the front.

Amy Kern, Principal at Mitchell Road Elementary, sent the following message:

“There are no words to describe the devastation we feel in the tragic loss of Carli Soukup. Carli was a phenomenal teacher and friend with a true gift in building lasting relationships. Her passion and love for our school and students reached beyond the classroom. Carli approached each day with a smile and loving spirit, inspiring each of us as well as her students. Our thoughts and prayers are with Carli’s husband and family. Carli will be truly missed and always remembered.”
