Charleston, South Carolina – The name of the woman who succumbed to her injuries after jumping from a second-tier balcony of the Al Cannon Detention Center on Wednesday has been released by the Charleston County Coroner’s Office.
The incident occurred at around 12:45 p.m. when she jumped from the second-tier balcony level of a housing unit and fell on the first floor.
The woman was transported to the Medical University of South Carolina for treatment of what were said to be life-threatening injuries.
The 38-year-old Patricia Sizemore of Charleston succumbed to her injuries on Friday afternoon at approximately 1:41 p.m., according to the Charleston County Coroner’s Office.
Sizemore was taken into custody on May 12 on multiple charges, including two first-offense felony counts of controlled substance violations and two felony counts of distributing controlled substances near a school, and bail was set at $125,000, according to jail records.
While Sizemore was receiving treatment for her injuries at a hospital, the charges against her were dropped.
