Dorchester County, South Carolina – The 34-year-old Christopher Brooks, a former Dorchester County Sheriff’s Deputy, accused of drawing weapons in front of two others was arrested on Thursday, the authorities confirmed.
According to the authorities, Brooks was arrested on accusations for drawing his issued gun and Taser in front of two people, an incident that happened back in October 2020.
South Carolina Law Enforcement Division investigation ended up with the arrest of the 34-year-old Brooks on Thursday and he now faces 3rd-degree assault and battery charges.
As per the investigation conducted by SLED, Brooks on October 16, 2020, was explaining to two people what kind of day he was having when he “willfully and unlawfully” drew his pistol and Taser in front of the people.
An affidavit states Brooks admitted to spark testing his Taser but denied unholstering his duty pistol in an apartment complex office while wearing his sheriff’s office uniform.
While both of the victims confirmed that Brooks didn’t point his weapons toward them, one of the victims told police she feared for her life.
Brooks was arrested on Thursday and held in the Dorchester County Detention Center.
