Several charges brought against an elderly man who threatened his wife and put a handgun to her head

Charleston, South Carolina – An elderly man was arrested by deputies within the Charleston County Sheriff’s Office after being accused of threatening his wife and pointing a gun to her head.

Deputies were sent to an auto shop located on Ashley River Road just before 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday in response to a report of a weapons incident. The man’s wife told authorities she was at their home when her husband started swearing and yelling at her shortly before putting a handgun to her head and threatening to kill her. After that, the victim managed to flee the residence.

The 89-year-old Lee McCaskill was arrested and booked into the Al Cannon Detention Center but was free to leave after posting a bond in the amount of $35,000

Domestic violence of a high and aggravated nature as well as possession of a firearm during the commission of a violent crime were the charges brought against Lee. It is unclear when he is scheduled to appear in court.
